Ice Hockey World Championship – The Fan Kit

From 15 to 31 May 2026, the City of Fribourg, in partnership with the host city of Zurich, will host the 2026 Ice Hockey World Championship, organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation.

On this occasion, Fribourg Tourism has launched a fan Kit, available in ten languages, designed to accompany fans from around the world. It brings together practical information, ideas for discoveries and useful addresses to facilitate supporters’ stays and enable them to experience Fribourg beyond the matches.

In this context, Le Domaine stands out for its serene and green setting. Located just a few minutes from Fribourg city center, it is set within a leafy environment and offers the opportunity to unwind away from the intensity of the matches and related events, without being too far removed from them. Accessible via various modes of transport or soft mobility, it offers accommodation that is both practical and peaceful throughout the duration of the event.

The restaurant Le Jardin at Le Domaine showcases regional produce through close collaboration with several local producers. All dishes are prepared with care, in line with the rhythm of the seasons, and carry the “Fait Maison” and “Cuisinons notre Région” labels. Weather permitting, the terrace invites guests to extend convivial moments outdoors.

For the duration of the championship, from 15 to 31 May 2026, Le Domaine still has accommodation capacity, including accommodation adapted for people with reduced mobility. The restaurant Le Jardin also plans to organize “pre-match cheese fondues”, offering a convivial and typically Fribourg way to gather before the games, without rush or agitation.

Staying at Le Domaine ultimately means choosing a locally committed establishment, whose activities form part of a socially oriented project that supports socio-professional integration and actively contributes to life in Fribourg.
